DAMOC KICK-OFF MEETING (20-24 March 2017)

The Kick-Off Meeting of the project DAMOC (Development of a HArmonized MOdular Curriculum for the Smart Grid) was hold from 20 to 24 March 2017 at the faculty of Computer Science.

On 20 March, the dean of the faculty Prof. Aßmann welcomed in the opening event representatives of the partner universities from Italy, Sweden, South Africa and Tanzania.

The invited guest speakers Mr. Dr. Wagner of ‘Dresdner Institut für Datenschutz’, Mr. Martin Adolph of the International Telecommunication Union, and Mr. Martin Beck of the Chair of Data Security and Data Privacy contributed with their interesting talks to a successful start.

The aim of the project is to establish a curriculum in the area of Smart Grids in the African partner nations. During the project interdisciplinary master modules as well as online courses will be developed and implemented at the African partner university. Acquired skills can be practised in different test laboratories.

Furthermore, the DAMOC project encourages international networking and exchange. The project is co-founded by the European Commission in the context of the Erasmus+ program. Project manager is Ms. Dr. Elke Franz of the Chair of Data Security and Data Privacy.
